peer call server (media gateway)

Syntax

peer-call-server server-name;

Hierarchy Level

[edit services convergence-services media-gateway gateway-name]

Release Information

Statement introduced in Release 10.0 of Junos OS.

Description

Specify the name of the peer call server to be used to provide the media gateway’s call handling and call routing services. For example, if you configured information about a peer call server called “peer-server-bostonHQ”, then you would specify that name for this statement.

Note: When you configure the peer call server, you can specify as its address a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) rather than an IP address as a means of specifying that multiple peer call servers are to be used. In this case, the SRX Series survivable call server (SRX Series SCS) sends heartbeat messages to all servers to determine which ones are available. It uses the preferred server, based on the domain name services (DNS) result.

Options

server-name—Name of the peer call server that provides call routing and call handling services for the media gateway.
