Release Information

Statement introduced in Release 10.0 of Junos OS.

Description

Configure the media gateway (SRX SeriesMGW). The SRX Series MGW forwards calls from analog stations to the peer call server, for processing and routing, and from the peer call server to analog stations. It routes all emergency calls from SIP phones and analog telephones out the local PSTN, if media gateway trunks are configured, or to the peer call server, if not.

The peer call server provides call handling services and call routing for calls from SIP phones and analog telephones and fax machines. With the exception of emergency calls, calls to and from SIP phones occur directly between them and the peer call server without the media gateway interceding.
