Description

Some companies choose to provide a single number for external callers. When calls are placed to this number, they are handled by an operator ( referred to as a live attendant) or rerouted to auto-attendant.

Specify the extension number of the “live-attendant” to whom calls are directed initially. When this person is unavailable to take calls at this telephone extension and the telephone rings for a specified number of times, the call is passed to auto-attendant. Some companies use a combination of auto-attendant and direct inward dialing (DID) features for external callers.

Options

extension-number—(live-attendant). Extension number of the person acting as the live-attendant operator for the auto-attendant feature.
