Release Information
Statement introduced in Release 10.0 of Junos OS.
Description
Specify the name of a preconfigured SRX Series media gateway (SRX Series MGW) dial plan that includes one or more route patterns identifying a digit-pattern against which called numbers are matched and the trunks to be used to route matching calls out the SRX Series media gateway (SRX Series MGW) trunks.
When the peer call server receives an outgoing call from the SRX Series MGW), it processes it and then routes it appropriately. It routes some outgoing calls to the branch’s local PSTN through media gateway trunks and some through its own trunks to its local PSTN, depending on which circumstance is more appropriate and least costly.
The peer call server administrator tells the media gateway administrator the digit patterns to use for route patterns configured in the media gateway dial plan. To determine the trunks to be used for calls matching various digit patterns, the media gateway administrator can provision trunks by creating trunk groups and then assigning them to specific route patterns.
