Release Information
Statement introduced in Release 10.0 of Junos OS.
Description
Define a class of restriction configuration whose policy specifies a type of call and whether a user is allowed to place that kind of call from the station that the configuration is assigned. The SRX Series survivable call server (SRX Series SCS) uses class-of-restriction configurations in conjunction with its dial plan to determine whether a call can be routed.
You can create multiple class-of-restriction policies to allow or deny permission to make different types of calls, such as long-distance and international, but each policy must be configured separately. You cannot create one class-of-restriction configuration composed of multiple policies.
![]() | Note: Class-of-restriction policies do not apply to the trunk-call type of cal. The trunk call type of call applies to the SRX Series media gateway (SRX Series MGW) dial plan only. |
For each policy, specify the type of call and whether it is allowed or denied. Call types include emergency, intrabranch, interbranch, local, long-distance, international, and custom calls. Intrabranch and emergency call types are not configurable within class of restriction policies. They are allowed by default.
![]() | Note: By default all calls except emergency and intra-branch calls are denied. For all other calls, you must create policies that allow them. (You can also explicitly specify that a type of call is denied). |
Class of restriction configurations are applied to stations. Policies determine the types of calls a user can make. For example, a policy might give a user permission to make long-distance calls. Another policy assigned to the same class of restriction configuration might but deny them the ability to make international calls. The called number must also match a route pattern entry in the dial plan for it to be routed.
