Release Information

Statement introduced in Release 10.0 of Junos OS.

Description

Enable auto-attendant when the operator, referred to as a live attendant, is unavailable to take calls and direct them to their intended parties. Specify the number of times the live attendant’s phone should ring before the call is passed to auto-attendant.

Calls are forwarded to auto-attendant when the live attendant is busy, away from the phone, or after business hours. When a call is forwarded to auto-attendant, the following message is played:

Welcome to the Unified Convergence Services automated attendant. Please enter your party’s extension or press 1 to reach voicemail.

The user can enter the destination party’s extension number and be directed to it by auto-attendant.

If a user knows the external telephone number of a person at the branch and dials that number, auto-attendant is bypassed. By default, auto-attendant is enabled.
