Understanding How to Disable Integrated Convergence Services SRX Series Media Gateway Registration
By default, the Integrated Convergence Services SRX Series media gateway (SRX Series MGW) registers to the peer call server. For some SIP networks, the peer call server is aware of all media gateways that communicate with it. In this case, the SRX Series MGW does not need to send a REGISTER message to the peer call server. If it were to attempt to register to the peer call server, the peer call server might silently drop the REGISTER message. Because the SRX Series MGW would not be informed about the behavior, it might send the REGISTER message again, adding to the network load unnecessarily.
To avoid this problem, you can configure the SRX Series MGW not to register to the peer call server.
