Outstanding Issues
This section lists outstanding issues with the M5 and M10 routers. For
information about software issues, see the JUNOS Internet Software Release
Notes.
- Combinations of PICs—On Juniper Networks routers, you can
typically install any combination of Physical Interface Cards (PICs) on a
single Enhanced Flexible PIC Concentrator (FPC). With JUNOS Release 6.3, on
M5, M10, M20, M40, M40e, and M160 routers, there are some combinations of
PICs that cannot be installed together on the same Enhanced FPC. If you are
upgrading to JUNOS 6.3 on one of the systems mentioned above and have different
PIC types on a single FPC, please consult Technical Bulletin PSN-2004-04-005
on the Juniper Networks Support Web site http://www.juniper.net/support/.
- Do not install PICs designed for another router into an M5 or
M10 router. Installing PICs designed for another router can damage the midplane.
Also, do not install PICs designed for the M5 and M10 routers into another
router, or you could damage the midplane.
- Before removing a PIC, be sure to press and hold the PIC online/offline
button for at least five seconds to take the PIC offline.
