Connect to a Network for Out-of-Band Management

Connect the Routing Engine to a network for out-of-band management through the MANAGEMENT ETHERNET port on the craft interface. One cable with RJ-45/RJ-45 connectors is provided with the router, as detailed in Routing Engine Interface Cable and Wire Specifications. Follow this procedure:

1. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable (the connector is shown in Figure 48) into the MANAGEMENT ETHERNET port on the craft interface.
2. Plug the other end of the cable into the network device.
