Removing the Air Filter
The air filter is located at the front of the chassis, below the FPC
card cage and cable management system (see Figure 61).
To remove the air filter, follow this procedure:
- Attach
an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist and connect
the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis. Make sure the router is
attached to a proper earth ground. For more information about ESD, see Preventing Electrostatic Discharge
Damage.
- Loosen the thumbscrew at each corner of the air filter cover.
- Grasp the edges of the air filter and pull it away from
the front of the chassis.
- Inspect the filter for dust, dirt, and holes. If needed,
clean it as described in Cleaning the Air Filter or
replace it.
