Maintaining M120 FPCs and CFPCs
Purpose
For optimum router performance, verify the condition of the Flexible PIC Concentrators (FPCs) and compact FPCs (CFPCs). The router can have up to six FPCs, four of Type 1, 2, or 3, and two compact CFPCs, mounted vertically in the FPC card cage at the front of the chassis, as shown in Front View of a Fully Configured Router Chassis.
Action
On a regular basis:
- Check the LEDs on the craft interface directly above each FPC slot. The green LED labeled OK lights steadily when an FPC is functioning normally. For more information, see FPC LEDs on the M120 Craft Interface.
- Issue the CLI show chassis fpc command
to check the status of installed FPCs. As shown in the sample output,
the value Online in the column labeled State indicates
that the FPC is functioning normally:
user@host> show chassis fpcTemp CPU Utilization (%) Memory Utilization (%) Slot State (C) Total Interrupt DRAM (MB) Heap Buffer 0 Empty 1 Empty 2 Online 39 1 0 128 1 59 3 Online 41 0 0 128 1 59 4 Online 43 0 0 128 1 58 5 Online 39 0 0 128 3 59
For more detailed output, add the detail option. The following example also specifies a slot number (2), which is optional:
user@host> show chassis fpc detail 2State Online Temperature 39 degrees C / 102 degrees F Total CPU DRAM 128 MB Start time 2006-05-02 08:53:29 PDT Uptime 1 hour, 51 minutes, 57 seconds
For further description of the output from the commands, see the Junos System Basics and Services Command Reference.
