Maintaining the Air Filters

Purpose

For optimum cooling, verify the condition of the air filters.

Air filters keep dust and other particles from entering the cooling system.

Action

On a regular basis:

• Verify that the air filters are free of dust and debris.
• Replace the air filters every 6 months. The filter elements degrade over time, so the air filters in use, as well as spares, must be replaced every 6 months.
• Use spare air filters within one year of manufacture. Look at the date of manufacture printed on the filter.
• Store spare air filters in a dark, cool, and dry place. Storing the filter elements at higher temperatures, or where they can be exposed to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, hydrocarbon emissions, or vapors from solvents, can significantly reduce their life.

Caution: Always keep the air filters in place while the TX Matrix Plus router is operating. Because the fans are very powerful, they could pull small bits of wire or other materials into the TX Matrix Plus router through the unfiltered air intake. This could damage the TX Matrix Plus components.
