Troubleshooting the TX Matrix Plus TXP-CIPs
Problem
During normal operation:
- All TXP-CIPs are online.
- The green OK LED on the faceplate of the TXP-CIP is lit.
- The yellow FAIL LED on the faceplate of the TXP-CIP is not lit.
The following indicate a problem with a TXP-CIP:
- The yellow FAIL LED on the faceplate of the TXP-CIP is lit.
- The green OK LED on the faceplate of the TXP-CIP is not lit.
- A TXP-CIPs is not online.
Solution
To troubleshoot the TXP-CIPs:
- Check the LEDs on the TXP-CIP faceplate:
- Yellow FAIL LED on the TXP-CIP faceplate is lit—Use the CLI for the status of the TXP-CIP.
- Verify that the the TXP-CIP is Online by issuing the issuing the show chassis environment cip sfc
0 command
user@host> show chassis environment cip sfc 0CIP 0 status: State Online Active Temperature 30 degrees C / 86 degrees F Power 1 1.0 V 1015 mV 1.8 V 1820 mV 2.5 V 2491 mV 3.3 V 3306 mV 3.3 V bias 3300 mV 5.0 V 5085 mV 9.0 V 9087 mV Bus Revision 74 CIP 1 status: State Online Inactive Temperature 30 degrees C / 86 degrees F Power 1 1.0 V 1008 mV 1.8 V 1807 mV 2.5 V 2494 mV 3.3 V 3293 mV 3.3 V bias 3300 mV 5.0 V 5078 mV 9.0 V 8991 mV Bus Revision 74 - Verify that the the links from the TXP-CIP to the
T1600 routers (LCC) are Up by issuing the show chassis

- Make sure the TXP-CIP is properly seated in the midplane. Verify that each ejector handle has been turned clockwise and is tight.
The text in the column labeled ”LCD Message” appears in the display of the craft interface. The text in the column labeled “CLI Message” appears in the output from the show chassis alarms command.
Table 1: TXP-CIP Alarm Messages
Alarm Type | Craft Interface Message | CLI Message | Alarm Condition | Solution |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Red | CIP cip-number Failed | CIP cip-numberFailed | A TXP-CIP has failed. | Replace the TXP-CIP. |
Yellow | CIP cip-number Removed | CIP cip-number Removed | A TXP-CIP has been removed. | Reinstall the TXP-CIP in the chassis. |
CIP cip-number voltage sensor failed | CIP cip-number voltage sensor failed | A failure occured in reading the voltage sensors on the TXP-CIP. | Replace the TXP-CIP. |
