Powering Off the MX80 Router
 | Note: After powering off a power supply, wait at least 60 seconds before turning it back on. |
To power off the router:
- On the external management device connected to
the Routing Engine, issue the request system halt command.
user@host> request system halt - Wait until a message appears on the console confirming that the operating system has halted. For more information about the command, see the Junos System Basics and Services Command Reference.
- Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
- Switch the AC input switch on each AC power supply or the DC circuit breaker on each DC power supply to the off (O) position.
