Removing a JCS1200 Power Box
Figure 1 shows how to remove and install a power box.

To remove a power box (see Figure 1):
- Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
- Power off any Routing Engines in the platform (Powering Off a JCS1200 Routing Engine).
- Disconnect the power from the platform (see Disconnecting Power from the JCS1200 Platform).
- Remove the fan shuttle from the platform (see Removing a JCS1200 Fan Shuttle).
- Remove the five Phillips screws that attach the power box to the chassis.
- Loosen the two captive thumbscrews on the power
box by turning them counter-clockwise approximately eight turns (see Figure 2 and Figure 3).

- Slide the power box away from the platform.
- If you are instructed to return the power box, follow all packaging instructions and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
Installing a JCS1200 Power Box
Figure 4 shows how to remove and install a power box.

To install a power box (see Figure 4):
- Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
- Orient the connectors on the back of the power box with the connectors in the chassis.
- Slide the power box into the chassis.
- Tighten the two captive thumbscrews on the power
box by turning the thumbscrews clockwise approximately eight turns
(see Figure 5 and Figure 6).

- Install the five Phillips screws that attach the power box to the chassis.
- Install the fan shuttle into the platform (see Installing a JCS1200 Fan Shuttle).
- Reconnect any cables that were disconnected from the modules in the rear of the platform.
- Reconnect the power to the platform (see Connecting the JCS1200 AC Platform to AC Power or Connecting the JCS1200 DC Platform to DC Power).
- Restart any Routing Engines that were powered off in the platform (see Powering On a JCS1200 Routing Engine).
