Disconnecting the Power Cord from a AC-Powered M10i Router

To disconnect the power cord from an AC-powered router:

1. On the console or other management device connected to the master Routing Engine, enter CLI operational mode and issue the following command to shut down the router software. (If two Routing Engines are installed, also issue the command on the backup Routing Engine.)
   
   

   user@host> request system halt

   Note: Wait until a message appears on the console confirming that the operating system has halted.

2. Remove the plug from the AC power source receptacle.
3. For each power supply, remove the appliance coupler end of a power cord from the appliance inlet on a power supply faceplate. Verify that the power cord does not block access to router components or drape where people could trip on it.
