Identity |
Navigate to the System level in the configuration
hierarchy.
|
- In the J-Web interface, select Configure> System Properties> System Identity.
- On System Identity Configuration page, click Edit.
|
From the [edit] hierarchy level,
enter
edit system
|
Define the hostname of the device.
|
In the Host name box, type the hostname of
the device—for example, devicea.
|
Set the hostname. For example:
set host-name devicea
|
Name the domain in which the device is located.
|
In the Domain name box, type the domain name
of the device—for example, lab.device.net.
|
Set the domain name. For example:
set domain-name lab.device.net
|
Define root authentication for access to the
device.
|
- Set the password that user root can
use to log into the services gateway.
- Re-type the password to confirm it.
|
Set the root password. For example:
set system root-authentication plain-text password
|
Define the DNS server that receives DNS requests.
|
- Next to DNS server, click Add.
- In the Address box, type the address of the DNS
server—for example, 10.148.2.32.
- Click OK.

Set the address of the DNS server. For example:
set name-server 10.148.2.32
|
Add each domain to which the device belongs.
|
- Next to Domain Search, click Add.
- In the Value box, type the name of the domain in
which the device is located—for example, lab.device.net.
- Click OK.
- Next to Domain Search, click Add.
- In the Value box, type the name of another domain
that the device belongs to—for example, device.net.
- Click OK.
- Click OK a
second time to return to the System level in the configuration editor
hierarchy.

Set the domains to be searched. For example:
set domain-search lab.device.net
set domain-search device.net

Access > Services |
Define management port and loopback address
for the device.
|
- In the J-Web interface, select Configure> System Properties> Management Access.
- On Management Access Page, click Edit.
- On Edit Management Access page, select Services tab.
- Select Enable SSH and click OK a second time to return to the System level in
the configuration editor hierarchy.

Set remote access for SSH:
set services ssh

Time |
Define the time zone the device is located
in.
|
- In the J-Web interface, select Configure> System Properties> Date Time.
- On Date and Time Page, click Edit.
- In the Time zone list, select the time zone for
your device—for example, America/Los_Angeles.

Set the time zone. For example:
set time-zone America/Los_Angeles
