M10i DC Power Cable and Lug Specifications
You must provide two 14-AWG (2.08 mm2) single-strand-count wire cables for each power supply.
![]() | Caution: Before router installation begins, a licensed electrician must attach a cable lug to the DC power cables that you supply. The terminal fork lugs, 14-AWG (2.08 mm2), are provided in the accessories box for the DC power cables. |
![]() | Warning: For field-wiring connections, use copper conductors only. |
Figure 1 shows how to attach the power cables. The DC power cables insert into the field-wiring terminals located on each power supply—the input terminal is labeled -48V and the return terminal is labeled RTN.

The DC power supplies in slots P/S 0 and P/S 1 must be powered by dedicated power feeds derived from feed A, and the DC power supplies in slots P/S 2 and P/S 3 must be powered by dedicated power feeds derived from feed B. This configuration provides the commonly deployed A/B feed redundancy for the system. Most sites distribute DC power through a main conduit that leads to frame-mounted DC power distribution panels, one of which might be located at the top of the rack that houses the router. A pair of cables (one input and one return) connects the field-wiring terminals to the power distribution panel.
