show interfaces routing
Syntax
Release Information
Command introduced before Junos OS Release 7.4.
Description
Display the state of the router's interfaces. Use this command for performing router diagnostics only, when you are determining whether the routing protocols and the Junos OS differ about the state of an interface.
Options
- none
Display standard information about the state of all router interfaces on all logical systems.
- brief | detail
(Optional) Display the specified level of output.
- interface-name
(Optional) Name of a specific interface.
- logical-system (all | logical-system-name)
(Optional) Perform this operation on all logical systems or on a particular logical system.
Additional Information
For information about how to configure routing protocols, see the Junos Routing Protocols Configuration Guide. For information about related operational mode commands for routing instances and protocols, see the Junos Routing Protocols and Policies Command Reference.

Output Fields
Table 1 lists the output fields for the show interfaces routing command. Output fields are listed in the approximate order in which they appear.
Table 1: show interfaces routing Output Fields
Field Name | Field Description | Level of Output |
|---|---|---|
Interface | Name of the physical interface. | none brief |
State | State of the physical interface: Up or Down. | none brief |
Addresses | Protocols and addresses configured on the interface. | none brief |
Index | Interface index number, which reflects its initialization sequence. | detail |
Refcount | Number of references to the interface in the routing software. | detail |
State | State (Up or Down) and type of interface. | detail |
Change | Reflects one or more of the following recent changes to the interface:
| detail |
Up/down transitions | Number of times the interface has gone from Down to Up. | detail |
Link layer | Describes the link layer of the interface. | detail |
Encapsulation | Encapsulation on the interface. | detail |
Bandwidth | Speed at which the interface is running. | detail |
Protocol address | Information about the configuration of protocols on the interface:
| detail |
