Lost Router Connectivity

Problem

After completing initial configuration, I lost connectivity to the routing platform through J-Web.

Cause

For J Series routers only, after initial configuration is complete, the routing platform stops functioning as a DHCP server. If you change the IP address of the management interface and have the management device configured to use DHCP, you lose your DHCP lease and your connection to the routing platform through the J-Web interface.

Solution

To reestablish a connection, either set the IP address on the management device manually, or connect the management interface to the management network and access the routing platform another way—for example, through the console port.
