APPID Overview
The APPID feature identifies applications as constituents of application groups in TCP/UDP/ICMP traffic. It is supported on MX Series routers equipped with Multiservices DPCs and M120 or M320 routers equipped with Multiservices 400 PICs. To configure APPID, include statements at the [edit services application-identification] hierarchy level to specify parameter values for defining applications, enable or disable application rules, and gather the applications and rules into groups.
