Passive Monitoring MIB

The Juniper Networks enterprise-specific Passive Monitoring MIB, whose object identifier is {jnxMibs 19}, performs traffic-flow monitoring and lawful interception of packets transiting between two routers. This MIB allows you to do the following:

  • Gather and export detailed information about IPv4 traffic flows between source and destination nodes in your network.
  • Sample all incoming IPv4 traffic on the monitoring interface and present the data in cflowd record format.
  • Encrypt or tunnel outgoing cflowd records, intercepted IPv4 traffic, or both.
  • Direct filtered traffic to different packet analyzers and present the data in its original format.

The Passive Monitoring MIB has three tables: jnxPMonFlowTable, JnxPMonErrorTable, and jnxPMonMemoryTable. jnxPMonFlowTable monitors and collects statistics on the flow of traffic on a Passive Monitoring PIC. jnxPMonErrorTable monitors and collects statistics on packet and memory errors on a Passive Monitoring PIC. jnxPMonMemoryTable monitors and collects statistics on memory usage on a Passive Monitoring PIC. For information about system requirements, see the Junos Feature Guide. For a downloadable version of this MIB, see http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/en_US/junos10.3/topics/reference/mibs/mib-jnx-pmon.txt .

For information about the jnxPMonFlowTable objects, see the following topic:
