- RFC 1989, PPP Link Quality Monitoring
- RFC 1990, The PPP Multilink Protocol (MP) (see also RFC 1717)
- RFC 2153, PPP Vendor Extensions
- RFC 2364, PPP Over AAL5
- RFC 2615, PPP over SONET/SDH
- RFC 2686, The Multi-Class Extension to Multi-Link PPP
The following features are not supported:
- Negotiation of address field compression and protocol field compression PPP NCP options; instead, a full 4-byte PPP header is always sent
- Prefix elision
- RFC 3021, Using 31-Bit Prefixes on IPv4 Point-to-Point Links
