Internal Ethernet Interface Overview
The router internal Ethernet interface connects the Routing Engine with the router’s packet forwarding components. The JUNOS Software automatically configures internal Ethernet interfaces. For M Series, MX Series, and T Series routers not configured in a routing matrix with a TX Matrix Plus router, the internal Ethernet interface is fxp1.
 | Note: Do not modify or remove the configuration for the internal Ethernet interface that the JUNOS Software automatically configures. If you do, the router will stop functioning. |
