Troubleshooting Layer 3 VPNs Using ping and traceroute

This section provides examples of how to use the ping command to check the accessibility of various routers in a VPN topology, and how to use the traceroute command to check the path that packets travel between the VPN routers. The topology shown in Figure 20 illustrates these commands.
