advertise-interval (APS)

Syntax

advertise-interval milliseconds;

Statement introduced before JUNOS Release 7.4.

Description

Modify the Automatic Protection Switching (APS) interval at which the protect and working routers send packets to their neighbors to advertise that they are operational. A router considers its neighbor to be operational for a period, called the hold time, that is, by default, three times the advertisement interval.

Options

milliseconds—Interval between advertisement packets.

Range: 1 through 65,534 milliseconds
Default: 1000 milliseconds

Description

For J-series Services Routers only. On Ethernet interfaces configured for DLSw Ethernet redundancy, configure the advertisement interval of DLSw neighbors on the network.

All routers in the redundancy group must use the same advertisement interval.

Options

seconds—Interval between advertisement packets.

Range: 1 through 255 seconds
Default: 1 second
