Firewall Configuration Overview

Perform the following tasks to configure the JUNOS software firewall on the router:

  1. Configure a security zone where the VPN client is to terminate. For more information, see Configuring a Security Zone.
  2. Configure a tunnel interface to identify the VPN. For more information, see Configuring a Tunnel Interface.
  3. Configure the eXtended Authentication (XAuth) settings. For more information, see Configuring an Access Profile for XAuth.
  4. Configure an IKE gateway and phase 1 proposal. For more information, see Configuring an IKE Gateway.
  5. Configure firewall policies to permit or deny traffic. For more information, see Configuring Policies.
