Redundancy Connection for a T320 Router and T640 Routing Node
Figure 191 shows the connection between the master and backup host modules on a T320 router or a T640 routing node with a Routing Engine 600 (RE-600). Keepalive messages are sent from one Routing Engine to the other over the
fxp2interface found on the Routing Engine. The keepalive message is received by the other host module via thefpx1interface. A keepalive message is sent back over thefxp2interface of the other Routing Engine. In this way, the master and the backup host subsystems exchange state information.
