Step 8: Monitor Messages in Near-Real Time

Action

To monitor messages in near-real time as they are being written to the log file, use the following JUNOS CLI operational mode command:

user@host> monitor start filename

Sample Output

user@host> monitor start messages

What It Means

The sample output shows the routing protocol log messages in the messages file for September 10.
