Statement introduced before JUNOS Release 7.4.
When a link fails and traffic is moved to an alternate path, the smart optimize timer waits for the specified period of time and then switches the traffic back to the original path (if that path is back up). If the original path fails again, the traffic is shifted to an alternate path and the smart optimization timer is disabled for one hour. This statement is disabled by default.
