Viewing Routing Table Information

Purpose

You can display brief or detailed information about the route from the local system to a remote host.

Action

To view brief route information:

Kernel IP routing table
Destination     Gateway         Genmask         Flags   MSS Window  irtt Iface
192.2.2.0  ' '' '' '' '' '*               255.255.255.0   U         0 0          0 eth0
default         srclab1.mylab.  0.0.0.0         UG        0 0          0 eth0

To view detailed route information:

Kernel IP routing table
Destination     Gateway         Genmask         Flags Metric Ref    Use Iface MSS   Window irtt

The detailed output includes the additional Metric, Ref, and Use fields.
