Renaming Files

To rename files, use the rename command. Table 34 shows the types of files you can rename in different locations.

rename

• Use to rename a local file.
• You can change the base name but not the extension of a file.
• Example

  host1#rename boston1.cnf boston2.cnf

• There is no no version.
