Naming the System

When you receive the router, it has a factory default host name. To rename the router, use the hostname command.

hostname

• Use to rename the router.
• The assigned name is displayed in the command-line interface (CLI) prompts.
• Example

  router1(config)#hostname host1

  host1(config)#

• There is no no version.
• See hostname.
