Configuring Connectivity Between the Primary and Secondary Service and Infrastructure Monitor VMs

The Primary and Secondary Service and Infrastructure Monitor VMs must be able to communicate using their hostnames. Fully qualified domain names (FQDN) must be specified for these VMs to ensure they can communicate by hostname.

To configure the primary and secondary Service and Infrastructure Monitor VMs to communicate by hostname:

    1. Review the IP addresses, hostnames, and the domain name for the primary and secondary Service and Infrastructure Monitor VMs.
    2. In the /etc/hosts files on the primary and secondary Service and Infrastructure Monitor VMs, include the IP addresses and hostnames in the format:

      IP-address VM-name.Domain

      For example:

      192.168.1.6 sim1-vm.example.net
      192.168.1.7 sim2-vm.example.net
