Creating a WLAN Service Profile Dedicated to Voice

Create a WLAN Service profile for voice:

    1. Click in the Network Director banner.
    2. Under Select View, select either Logical View, Location View, Device View or Custom Group View.

Tip: Do not select Virtual View or Topology View.

    3. Click WLAN Service profile under Profile and Configuration Management in the Tasks pane.

The Manage WLAN Service profiles page is displayed in the work area.

    4. Click Add on the Manage WLAN Service profiles pane.

The Create WLAN Service profile for Wireless (WLC) wizard opens with four sections, Basic Settings (displayed), Security Settings, Advanced Settings, and Review.

    5. In the Basic Settings tab of the Create WLAN Service profile wizard, configure these settings:
      • Provide a name for the WLAN.
      • Set SSID Type to Clear.
      • Select the previously created Authorization Profile.
      • Set Fall Through Access to Last Resort.
    6. Click the Security Settings tab of the Create WLAN Service profile wizard, and configure these settings:
      • Disable RSN (WPA2) 802.1X Auth.
      • Disable WPA2 802.1X Auth.
    7. Click the Advanced Settings tab of the Create WLAN Service profile wizard, and configure these settings:
      • Enable Proxy ARP.
      • Enable No Broadcast.
      • Set Short Retry Count to 3.
      • Set Long Retry Count to 3.
      • Set CAC Mode to VoIP Session.
    8. Click Review, check the configuration, then click Finish.

A WLAN Service profile is not used automatically. You must link a radio profile to the WLAN Service profile, then link the radio profile to radios in an AP to apply WLAN Service profile settings. For directions to both link a WLAN Service profile and link radios, see Understanding WLAN Service Profiles.
