    local-management

    Syntax

    local-management {family inet {address ip-address;}routing-instance routing-instance-name{family inet {address ip-address;}}

    Hierarchy Level

    [edit services app-engine compute-cluster compute-cluster-name],[edit services app-engine virtual-machines instance instance-name]

    Release Information

    Statement introduced in Junos OS Release 12.3.

    Description

    Specify the management address of the device running Junos to which the compute cluster is connected. This is the Routing Engine counterpart to the management interface address on the compute node.

    • To enable services in the default routing instance, you include the family configuration statement under local-manangewment at one of the hierarchy levels listed in the Hierarchy Level section.
    • To enable those services in a particular routing instance, you include the optional routing-instance configuration statement under local-manangewment at one of the hierarchy levels listed in the Hierarchy Level section.

    Configuration changes to the local-management option are nondestructive, that is, such changes do not require a reboot of the compute node.

    If local-management is not configured under [edit services app-engine virtual-machines instance instance-name] hierarchy level, the local management interface defaults to the compute cluster’s local management interface under which that VM is provisioned.

    The statements are explained separately.
