Configuring Service Manager
To use the Service Manager application to create subscriber service sessions, you perform the following tasks:
- Create and manage service definitions. (See Managing Your Service Definitions.)
- Use the macro language to define service definitions.
- Download service definition macro files to the router’s nonvolatile storage (NVS).
- Install service definitions on the router.
- Uninstall service definitions.
- Configure the Service Manager license. (See Configuring the Service Manager License.)
- Configure RADIUS accounting. (See Understanding RADIUS Accounting for Service Manager and Configuring Service Interim Accounting.)
- Use RADIUS login and RADIUS COA to manage subscriber service
sessions. (See Managing Subscriber Service Sessions by Using RADIUS Overview and Activating Subscriber Service Sessions Using RADIUS.)
- Specify the subscriber. (See Understanding Service Manager RADIUS Attributes.)
- Specify optional attributes.
- Enable statistics collection. (See Configuring Service Manager Statistics.)
- Activate the service session. (See Deactivating Service Sessions Using RADIUS.)
- Deactivate service sessions. (See Activating Subscriber Service Sessions Using RADIUS.)
- (Optional for RADIUS COA method) Configure the COA feature for the RADIUS dynamic-request server. (See the Configuring RADIUS Dynamic-Request Server chapter in this guide)
- Use the CLI to manage subscriber service sessions. (See Preprovisioning Service Sessions and Activating Subscriber Sessions by Using the CLI.)
- Specify the subscriber. (See Working with Service Session Profiles.)
- Create and apply optional service session profiles.
- Enable statistics collection. (See Configuring Service Manager Statistics.)
- Activate the service session. (See Activating Subscriber Sessions by Using the CLI.)
- Deactivate service sessions. (See Deactivating Subscriber Service Sessions by Using the CLI Overview.)
Figure 1 shows the sequence of operations you use to create and monitor subscriber service sessions.
