    Statement introduced in Junos OS Release 9.0 for EX Series switches.

    Description

    Specify an ASCII or hexadecimal identifier for the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) client. The DHCP server identifies a client by a client-identifier value, which must be unique for each client.

    Default

    If you do not include client-identifier in the configuration, the DHCP server uses the client hardware type and MAC address to identify the client.

    Options

    ascii ascii

    Identifier consisting of ASCII characters, such as a fully qualified domain name.

    hexadecimal hexadecimal

    Identifier consisting of hexadecimal numbers (0-9, a-f, A-F). Do not use colons.
