Description
Configure the authentication algorithm for plain-text passwords.
Default
For Junos OS, the default encryption format is md5. For Junos-FIPS software, the default encryption format is sha1.
Options
The hash algorithm that authenticates the password can be one of these algorithms:
- md5—Produces a 128-bit digest.
- sha1—Produces a 160-bit digest.
