    Release Information

    Command introduced before Junos OS Release 7.4.

    sfc option introduced for the TX Matrix Plus router in Junos OS Release 9.6.

    Description

    Set up the hard disk for partitioning. After this command is issued, the hard disk is partitioned the next time the system is rebooted. When the hard disk is partitioned, the contents of /altroot and /altconfig are saved and restored. All other data on the hard disk is at risk of being lost.

    Options

    all-chassis

    (TX Matrix and TX Matrix Plus routers only) (Optional) Schedule a partition of the hard disk for all routers in the chassis at its next reboot.

    all-lcc

    (TX Matrix and TX Matrix Plus routers only) (Optional) On a TX Matrix router, schedule a partition of the hard disk on all T640 routers (or line-card chassis) connected to the TX Matrix router at their next reboot. On a TX Matrix Plus router, schedule a partition of the hard disk on all T1600 routers (or line-card connected to the TX Matrix Plus router.

    all-members

    (MX Series routers only) (Optional) Schedule a partition of the hard disk for all members of the Virtual Chassis configuration.

    lcc number

    (TX Matrix and TX Matrix Plus routers only) (Optional) On a TX Matrix Plus router, schedule a partition of the hard disk on a specific T640 router connected to the TX Matrix router. On a TX Matrix Plus router, schedule a partition of the hard disk on a specific T1600 router that is connected to the TX Matrix Plus router. Replace number with a value from 0 through 3.

    local

    (MX Series routers only) (Optional) Schedule a partition of the hard disk for the local member of the Virtual Chassis.

    member member-id

    (MX Series routers only) (Optional) Schedule a partition of the hard disk for the specified member of the Virtual Chassis configuration. Replace member-id with a value of 0 or 1.

    scc

    (TX Matrix routers only) (Optional) Schedule a partition of the hard disk on the T640 router connected to the TX Matrix router (or switch-card chassis).

    sfc number

    (TX Matrix Plus routers only) (Optional) Schedule a partition of the hard disk on the T1600 router connected to the TX Matrix Plus router (or switch-fabric chassis). Replace number with 0.

    Additional Information

    To immediately partition the hard disk, use the request system reboot command. To cancel the partition request, use the request system partition abort command.
