    configure

    Syntax

    configure<batch><dynamic><exclusive><private>

    Release Information

    Command introduced before Junos OS Release 7.4.

    Command introduced in Junos OS Release 9.0 for EX Series switches.

    Description

    Enter configuration mode. When this command is entered without any optional keywords, everyone can make configuration changes and commit all changes made to the configuration.

    Options

    none

    Enter configuration mode.

    batch
    		—

    (Optional) Work in the batch commit mode where commit operations are executed in batches.

    dynamic
    		—

    (Optional) Configure routing policies and certain routing policy objects in a dynamic database that is not subject to the same verification required in the standard configuration database. As a result, the time it takes to commit changes to the dynamic database is much shorter than for the standard configuration database. You can then reference these policies and policy objects in routing policies you configure in the standard database.

    exclusive
    		—

    (Optional) Lock the candidate configuration for as long as you remain in configuration mode, allowing you to make changes without interference from other users. Other users can enter and exit configuration mode, but they cannot change the configuration.

    private
    		—

    (Optional) Allow multiple users to edit different parts of the configuration at the same time and to commit only their own changes, or to roll back without interfering with one another's changes. You cannot commit changes in configure private mode when another user is in configure exclusive mode.
