Description
Configure DHCP relay server to use the configured
loopback address as the source address in both the IP header and in
DHCP messages relayed to the server.
In network configurations where a firewall on the broadband
network gateway (BNG) is between the DHCP relay agent and the DHCP
server, only the BNG loopback address passes through the BNG firewall.
In that case, DHCP unicast packets do not pass through the firewall
and are discarded. This configuration statement places the loopback
address in IP headers and DHCP messages, which enables DHCP unicast
packets to pass through the firewall to the DHCP server.
