Statement introduced in Junos OS Release 18.4R1.
Accept and process only (S,G) reports for source-specific multicast (SSM) groups when Multicast Listener Discovery (MLD) snooping is configured for MLDv2 and IPv6 multicast traffic.
Multicast Listener Discovery (MLD) is used by IPv6 routers and hosts to discover and indicate interest in a multicast group. MLD snooping restricts the forwarding of IPv6 multicast traffic to only those interfaces in a bridge domain (VLAN) that have interested listeners.
By default, when MLD snooping is enabled, the device accepts and processes IGMPv2, MLDv1 or MLDv2 (*,G) (any-source multicast [ASM]) reports. MLDv2 also supports (S,G) source-specific multicast (SSM) reports and queries, but accepting and processing both (*,G) and (S,G) reports at the same time is not supported. If you enable the evpn-ssm-reports-only option for MLD snooping, the device honors MLDv2 (S,G) reports only, and drops any MLDv1 or MLDv2 (*,G) reports.
