Modifying Juniper Rules

Junos Space custom rules in the Junos Space application can be modified for message, priority, description and example.

Edit Rules

1. Open the Rule Configuration wizard and click Windows > Preference > PMD > Rules Configuration. The Rules Configuration screen is displayed.


 
2. Click on the appropriate rule to select it. Once the rule is selected the Edit rule... button is enabled.


3. Click Edit rule.... The Edit PMD Rule wizard is displayed. This wizard allows you to edit the rule's Message, Priority, and Description.


 

4. Edit the appropriate section.


 
5. Click OK.

Delete Rules

1. Open the Rule Configuration wizard and click Windows > Preference > PMD > Rules Configuration. The Rules Configuration screen is displayed.


 
2. Click the appropriate rule to select it. Once the rule is selected the Remove rule button is enabled.


 
3. Click Remove rule.

Activate Rules

Right-click the WebSvc project, select Properties and click PMD.

• To activate a rule, select the appropriate checkbox.

Note: When rules are invoked on an application using the PMD Eclipse plug-in, the rules that are selected are applied for validating the application. Invoking rules using the build process applies all rules defined in the ruleset on the application, regardless which rules are activated.

 

Disable Rules

Right-click on the WebSvc project, select Properties and click PMD.

• To disable a rule, clear the appropriate checkbox.

Note: When the rules are invoked on an application using the PMD Eclipse plug-in, the rules that are selected are applied for validating the application. Invoking rules using the build process applies all rules defined in the ruleset on the application, regardless which rules are disabled.
