Overload Handling and Call Admission Control

If the new session create request cannot be handled by the subscriber management process owing to overload conditions, the response is immediately sent to AAA with redirect as the response. AAA redirects all the create requests to a different session PIC. The overload handling criteria can be managed at three levels—session level, domain level, and gateway level. Overload condition is determined based on attributes such as memory availability, CPU utilization. Call Admission Control (CAC) handling is based on the number of sessions and flows. The configuration is performed for each TDF domain.
