Understanding the Types of Reports You Can Create


The Report mode enables you to create standard reports from your network information. Reports are based on a report definition that can either be global or granular. You control this global or granular scope of the report definition by your selections in the View pane (the selected view and network tree node).

For example, if you want to run your reports against all routers, you could select the Gateway view and the All Network node in the network tree. To pinpoint the performance on a particular router, you would select the Gateway view and the individual SDG node in the network tree.

Report mode is available only in Gateway view of Edge Services director for managed service delivery gateways (SDGs) or SDG groups in the All Network tree of the View pane.


When naming your report definition, include the scope in the name. You cannot tell the scope from the report definition after you have created the definition; you can, however, determine the scope from the generated report.

You can create these reports in the Report mode:

  • Fault Management (FM) Alarm History Report

  • SDG Service Inventory

  • SDG Host Logical and Physical Inventory
