    Enabling Contrail-Based Virtual CPE Services

This topic is intended for cCPE business customer network administrators.

This topic describes how to enable Contrail-based virtual CPE services in the cCPE Selfcare Portal.

Before you can enable a Contrail-based virtual CPE service, your service provider must configure the service in cCPE Selfcare Application. See Understanding SDN Provisioning and Cloud CPE Selfcare Application for MX Series Routers.

To enable a Contrail-based virtual CPE service in the Selfcare Portal:

    1. In the Selfcare Portal task pane, select Administration > Service Management.
    2. Select the Services tab.

The Service Management page is displayed showing the list of available virtual services your cCPE service provider has configured. Figure 1 shows an example Service Management page with a virtual service named Firewall Service.

    3. To enable a particular virtual service, select the check box next to the service.

When you select the check box, Contrail and OpenStack activate the service. During this activation, the check box is not selectable. After the service becomes active, the check box is reloaded and a check mark in the check box indicates the service is active.

You can verify the status of the SDN service in the Contrail user interface.

Note: Be patient. Spawning the service instance in Contrail takes time because it involves not only the creation of the appropriate network and policy objects, but also the start of the virtual machine instances.
