The SDK Service Daemon Library
The SDK Service daemon (
ssd) runs in the Routing Engine and services client requests on both the Routing Engine and the Multiservices PIC. Any application developed using the JUNOS SDK can use the libssd API to become a client for
ssd. The client application can run on the same Routing Engine or on the Multiservices PIC.
The functions in libssd provide the ability to add, delete, and manage the following kinds of routes:
- Simple routes on the Routing Engine, with no explicit next hop information
All communications between
- Service routes pointing to the MultiServices PIC, with explicit next hop information.
ssd and its clients are asynchronous and non-blocking. Multiple outstanding transactions are permitted from clients.
