Interface Activation and Deactivation

To activate the interface, the msprsmd_conn_send_floating_ip() function (in file jnx-msprsmd_conn.c) establishes a libconn client connection to the instance of mspmand on the ifl interface.

This function is called from msprsmd_kcom_activate_if() in the file jnx-msprsmd_kcom.c. It then sends an "add ifa" request and closes the connection. (All instances of mspmand use the same hard coded port number.)

msprsmd_kcom_activate_if() then calls msprsmd_ssd_add_route() to set the route to the ifl's next hop.

To deactivate the interface, msprsmd_kcom_deactivate_if(), also in jnx-msprsmd_kcom.c, calls msprsmd_ssd_del_route() (in file jnx-msprsmd_ssd.c) to delete the route to the ifl nexthop.
