argument

Mode: Operational Mode

Description:

'argument' is analogous to 'attribute' in the configuration mode. It is the item which contains the value in which users can specify. It cannot contain any other items, may those be other commands or other arguments.

Example:

        #define DNAME_JNX_EXAMPLED "jnx-exampled"
        command newbie {
           help "Newbie display";
           action execute DNAME_JNX_EXAMPLED;
  
            argument constant-text {
                help "Example newbie display";
                type string;
            }
        }

Display:

        user@router> show example newbie ?
        Possible completions:
          <[Enter]>            Execute this command
          constant-text        Example newbie display
          |                    Pipe through a command
